Order Policy
As Taryn works nights in healthcare, orders are placed via email only. While we love receiving messages, we do not have the capacity to respond to inquiries across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Text, or Voicemail.
Please have your cake/order details clearly outlined in your email for the most accurate quote, and most efficient booking process.
Payment is accepted via e-transfer, Visa, Mastercard, or American Express.
Although we do our best to keep our website up to date, prices are subject to change without notice.
Creative License
We will follow order specifications to the best of our ability; however creative license is required to ensure that all cakes leaving our kitchen are up to our high standards. While our cakes are made at ungodly evening and morning hours, we will not be reaching out with alterations prior to cake pick-up/delivery. Every cake is handmade, and unique to the client and creator. Cake by Taryn cannot guarantee 100% accuracy in regards to colour, size, or overall cake composition.
Cancellations and/or Modifications
We understand that life happens and plans can change at the drop of a hat! We will try to assist you in any way possibly to modify your order when things change.
For Studio and Custom Cakes, we require a minimum of 7 days notice for cancellation or changes. If you cancel 7+ days in advance, your order will be fully refunded; if you cancel less that 7 days in advance, we have most likely started preparations for your cake, and reserve the right to retain 50% of your order total.
For Wedding Cakes, we reserve the right to retain the non-refundable retainer in all circumstances, along with a cancellation fee to cover the lost revenue from holding the date specifically for you.
Orders canceled within three months of the wedding date will be charged $250 (retainer included) to assist in covering the lost revenue that will have incurred from holding the agreed upon date, administration fees (emails, phone/text communication, scheduling, invoicing), design time, ingredient preparation, and other reasonable costs incurred from the booking.
Orders canceled within four weeks of the wedding date will be charged 50% of the invoice, or $250, (retainer included), to assist in covering the lost revenue that will have incurred from holding that date, administration fees (emails, phone/text communication, scheduling, invoicing), design time, ingredient preparation, and other reasonable costs incurred from the booking.
Cancellations due to COVID-19, variants of COVID-19, related, and other, illnesses, weather, venue, travel, restrictions of any kind, break-ups, etc, are all subject to this cancellation policy.
Refunds/Returns
Due to the perishable nature of our product, we do not accept returns, provide refunds/credits, or exchanges. If you are unsatisfied with your order, please email cakebytaryn@gmail.com right away. While we will make all efforts to address your concerns, we are not responsible for the cake during transport, storage, or your event set-up. If demmed fair and appropriate, we may offer a partial credit towards a future order; however we will not refund your custom made dessert.
